Unconditional Air Purifier Love

Unconditional Air Purifier Love

While the title of this blog is sure to get your attention, it couldn’t be truer as my journey with my current air purifier kind of started off like a love affair and today, I couldn’t imagine my life without it. Crazy? It sure sounds like it, but once you have time with one of these fantastic devices you are bound to feel the same way. I could almost guarantee it. While their ultimate goal is cleaning the air we breathe, they kind of clean up your life in the process—all while reducing the potential of becoming sick or stricken with nasty allergy attacks. In fact, my wife couldn’t be happier as I no longer keep her up all hours of the night with my snoring. I’m sure a lot of you can relate.

So, where to begin. When I hit 30 my entire system changed—not only did I acquire new allergies to mushrooms and apples, I became mildly allergic to my cats, dust and [apparently] everything under the sun. Well, that’s an exaggeration, but you get the point. Now, since I wasn’t deathly allergic, these newfound allergies were more annoying than anything else, I was congested often and felt under the weather, and I picked up something else—snoring. And not just any snoring, loud, room shaking snoring. It became so bad that my then-girlfriend kicked me out of the bedroom.

Does any of this sound familiar?

Anyway, a buddy of mine told me about an air purifier that he bought from Aprilaire and how it sucked away his cigarette smoke and reduced allergic reactions like itchy watery eyes and sneezing. At first I didn’t believe him, but after visiting his apartment I became a believer. I hated cigarette smoke with a passion and to my disbelief his apartment didn’t reek of smoke. This was the first time that I experienced that unconditional air purifier love. It sounds funny, but it changed my life.

For those of you who are unaware of what an air purifier actually does, it remove contaminants from the air in your home which is very important in today’s polluted world. In fact, indoor air is even more polluted than the air outside due to improper ventilation. An air purifier helps to ventilate your space while simultaneously cleaning the air. For instance, the Aprilaire 5000 air purifier that my friend purchased traps 99% of airborne pollen, mold and spore-sized particles, eliminates 98% of airborne bacteria-sized particles, removes 94% of respiratory dust which can trigger asthma, captures 80% of airborne particles the size of tobacco smoke and more.

All of the benefits above are huge, especially when it comes to our health. Sure, when we were young kids we probably had little ailments, except for mishaps while playing outdoors, playing kick the can or riding our bikes, but as we get older we can be knocked down with allergies or other health issues due to pollution. Air purifiers can help rid us of these problems and really boost our quality of life—and limit the amount of times we annoy our partners from our loud snoring. In all honesty, though, it is better for our health and the health of our loved ones, including our children.
